It plays with one thumb
The slice follows your finger — no buttons, no pad. The gun fires itself: all you have to do is fly, dodge, and aim for the top of the sky.
Naples · 1984
Fifteen illustrated skies, one by one. One slice of pizza. And, right at the top, the Pineapple.
Free. Fifteen skies to cross, and one slice of pizza to clean them all.
Fifteen worlds, illustrated one at a time, from the golden morning of the Valleys up to the crater. The higher you go, the more the light leaves.
farmland, one golden morning
follow the water down to the city
the city at high noon
the coast at the foot of the volcano
the weather turns out at sea
first ash on the leaves
there is no ground any more
the last green — and the Pineapple
cold lava, slow and heavy
you can barely see
everything set in ash
a copper light, the final one
grey desert, wind
the eruption lights the clouds
lunar, grey and silent

Levels are the tables of a pizzeria, written by hand on the tablecloth. Pick your menu: you serve it, you come back. Three difficulties — apprentice, pizzaiolo, maestro.
Tips are earned by playing, never any other way. They buy equipment that stays with you: a wood-fired oven, a thicker crust, a reserve of burrata.
Every world you finish leaves its painting in the gallery, pinned up like a postcard. That is the collection: it cannot be bought, only earned.
The second world follows the aqueduct down to the city. At every stage the painting, the weather and the music change completely — and the light drops one notch.
One morning in 1984, the Pineapple decided it belonged on pizza. It has held the sky over the gulf ever since — and it did not come alone. One slice flew up to say otherwise. That is the whole story: it is told between worlds, in pictures and short sentences.
Forty-eight cues, one per world and per moment of the run. The backdrops are illustrated one at a time, the music played in blocks that follow on without a seam. You shoot a great deal, and still come out calm.
And nobody ever invited them.
